Morrisons: The UK’s Fourth Largest Supermarket Chain
Morrisons, or to give it its full name, Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, is the fourth biggest supermarket chain in the UK, with its headquarters in West Yorkshire. Originally founded at the end of the 19th century, this retailer started out in Bradford’s Rawson Market as a stall selling eggs and butter, but today, it is a major brand that has become a household name. Today, there are around 500 stores nationwide, as well as a store in Gibraltar—the only overseas presence of this brand, driven by the number of British expats and military service staff and families at this location.
